Planetarium Online: Tour of the Evening Sky

Join LSC Planetarium Educator Andrew Bundas for a tour of the evening sky and learn more about things you can see from your own backyard!

Discover how to spot the brightest planet in the sky, Venus, as well as our last two winter constellations, Orion and Canis Major. Along the way, you’ll fly over the scorched surface of Venus, discover what is happening to the giant star Betelgeuse, and soar through the beautiful Orion Nebula! After the presentation, Andrew sticks around in the live stream to answer viewers' questions.

Liberty Science Center is home to the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, the biggest planetarium in America. This live stream was broadcast on Liberty Science Center's Facebook page on Thursday, April 9 – the second time we streamed a planetarium presentation via social media!

Explore more of our digital, at-home content while the Science Center is closed, over on “LSC in the House.”

P.S. Shoutout to Tyler, age 9, and Bradley, age 8, from Cedar Grove who were inspired to look for Venus, Sirius, and Orion in the sky after checking out this presentation!

We would like to give a special thank you to the members and supporters who continue to make this science learning possible through their support of the LSC Sustainability Fund!
