CHRISTOPHER S. BOERNER, PHD

Dr. Boerner is accountable for the company’s global commercial activities. Prior to this, he has held senior roles leading both the ex-US and US commercial organizations at Bristol-Myers Squibb. He joined BMS in February 2015.
Prior to this role, he served as the EVP of Commercial for Seattle Genetics, Inc., where he was responsible for leading all commercial activities for the company. Previously, he was its SVP of Commercial and VP of Marketing. Before joining Seattle Genetics, Boerner was with Dendreon Corporation, where he led the marketing team. From 2002 to 2010, he was with Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, where he served in a variety of commercial roles including Director of Marketing on Avastin, Director of Avastin franchise strategy, and Associate Director of Oncology Market Development.
Prior to Genentech, Boerner was with McKinsey & Company, a global strategic management consulting firm, where he served global pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. He received his PhD and Master of Arts in business administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and holds an A.B. in economics and history from Washington University in St. Louis.
