After School Programs

LSC's expert educators offer STEM series to support your after school programs. Our series can be delivered over an extended period and across a range of schedules.

Some popular topics include:

Forensic Science (Grades 3-12)

Crack a case using the same techniques real forensic scientists use, such as checking for fingerprints, comparing fibers, DNA analysis, the science of ballistics, and more. Available online or at your school.

Tinkercad Series: Mars Terraforming (Grades 4-12)

Get hands-on experience with the 3D design software Tinkercad. Use math while exploring the foundations of engineering, design, and architecture, such as scale and proportion. Available online.

Digital Art Studio Series (Grades 2-12)

Animation is a series of images, each slightly different from the last, shown in sequence. Artists and animators are the ones that can take a vision and bring it to life. In this series, students are introduced to the core principles of animation, using Pixilart Software tools, and apply their new skills in animation to solve a series of design errors and improve a product. Available online.

Engineering: Simple Machines (Grades 2-5)

Identify and investigate simple versus complex or compound machines and use that knowledge to create solutions for given problems. Using the engineering design process, students will compare multiple possible solutions as they explore their own creativity using common recyclable materials. Available online or at your school.

Engineering: Define and Defy Gravity (Grade 4-6)

Use Newton’s laws of motion to develop models explaining the force of gravity and be able to support explanations with evidence. By the end of the series, students will be able to create and compare multiple solutions to a given problem using common household and recyclable materials. Available online.
